Chapter Officer Retreat

In July, our officers spent two days together planning events for our chapter and bonding as a team. The officers went kayaking in Morro Bay, had lunch in Cambria, went on a hike, and went zip lining in Santa Margarita. We also had former officers come in and teach about the AET record book, and how to use it.
California Mid-State Fair

We had lots of exhibitors show this year at the fair in all different species! These students have spent all summer and the previous school year working with their livestock animals. We are so proud of all of the students and their hard work!
Sectional Beach Cleanup

On September 2nd, over 50 members attended a beach cleanup hosted by our section at Avila Beach. We picked up dozens of bags of trash after labor day weekend. Thank you for making an impact on our community, and for our community service committee for putting this event on!
September Game Meeting

Over 100 FFA members attended our very first meeting of the year. They participated in games at Taylor Field ran by our officers, like donut dangle, fireman's carry, and kajabi.
Go for The Gold

13 of our chapter members attended the sectional event, Go for The Gold, in Cayucos, California. Our members played games like capture the flag, had a relay race, and had a scavenger hunt. Our team came in 2nd out of 8 awesome teams! Way to represent SLO FFA.
Opening and Closing Ceremonies

Over 70 students participated in Opening and Closing Ceremonies at our school this year. Our advanced team got 1st place with 4 STAR awards, and our novice and officer teams had 3 STAR awards. Thank you to everyone who came to judge the contest and helped run this event at our school.
Pack The Pantry

Students brought in items to help pack the pantries around SLO County. Students brought in canned foods, and also delivered them. We helped stack over 15 pantries in our county because of our students!
Chapter Officer Leadership Conference

Our officer team attended COLC in Hollister, California. They attended workshops ran by state officers and regional officers, and competed in the lip sync battle. They met members from around the region, and learned about their specific officer positions
Fear Factor Lunch Meeting

On October 30th, we had over 200 FFA students attend our fear factor meeting at lunch. 8 of our contestants ate gross food, touched gross items, and bobbed for apples in ice. Students watched the show and enjoyed hot dogs. Thank you to our October Meeting committee for planning this event and our contestants for braving this scary meeting!
Sectional Project Competition

5 of our members competed in Project Competition with their livestock projects, jobs, and businesses. Congratulations to Finley and Aria who received 3rd and 2nd overall in Division 2 placement.
Sectional Creed, El Credo, and Water Issue

We brought 10 students to Morro Bay High School to participate in Sectional Creed, El Credo, and Water Issues. Our two El Credo competitors placed 1st and 2nd, advancing to regionals. Our water issues team placed 5th. We are so proud of our members for putting themselves out there and competing!
Downtown SLO Holiday Parade

100 FFA members attended the Downtown SLO Holiday Parade. We sang songs down the parade route and spread holiday cheer with other FFA chapters in our section. This night was so much fun, and we were voted "Most Enthusiastic" by the judges.
Trimester 2 Greenhand Day

We welcomed our trimester 2 greenhands with greenhand day! These are students who wern't enrolled in an ag class first trimester, due to our schools system. We had a fun day with painting hands on the poster, decorating cupcakes, and a scavenger hunt about FFA. Over 60 members recieved their greenhand degrees during this day!
Sectional Speaking Competition

On February 4th, 16 of our members competed in Impromptu, Prepared Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Job Interview. Holly Speake, Mila Shih, and Stevie Bates placed 2nd, 4th and 5th respectively in Prepared, Leah Siciliano and Caitlin Nibecker placed 3rd and 5th respectively in Impromptu, Aria Olsen placed 3rd in Extemporaneous and Michael Milner placed 5th in Job Interview. Congratulations to all of our speakers competing and those moving to region!
Mission College Prep Parliamentary Procedure Demonstration

Members of our advanced team went to another FFA chapter, Mission College Prep, to give their Ag Speech and Communications class a parli pro demonstration! Members of the class learned the basics of parliamentary procedure, and practiced debating with members of our team.
Vet Science Bakersfield College Field Day

Our Veterinary Science team competed in their first field day at Bakersfield College. As a team, they placed 2nd, with Maddi Holt and Emily Svedsen placing in the top 5 individuals overall. They were also first high team in their practicums and 3rd in general knowledge and ID. Congratulations!
Floral Team Bakersfield College Field Day

3 members of our floral team attended the Bakersfield College Field Day on February 8th. They had a great time learning at their first contest as a team since pre-covid! Congrats to this team and to Mallory Cushing for being the 2nd high individual in judging.
SAE Night

Over 18 of our members showed off their outstanding SAE projects at our SAE Night! Students received awards for best project in different categories, and best overall presentation. Students made amazing poster boards and brought in their projects to show off the amazing work they've done in their classes.
MFE/ALA Leadership Conference

15 students attended the Made for Excellence and Advanced Leadership Academy Conferences in Visialia, California. During this two day conference ran by the California FFA State Officers, students planned events for our chapter, developed their leaderhip abilities, had a super fun dance, and interacted with members acorss California.
FFA Week: Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

On Tuesday of FFA week, we held a teacher appreciation breakfast for our teachers. Members donated items, and other students welcomed them into the staff lounge to grab some food on the way out. We loved showing support to our staff!
FFA Week: Chapter Degree Lunch

Over 40 of our Sophomores received their chapter degree during Tuesday at lunch during FFA Week! We had pizza, taught them how to correctly receive awards, and educated them on Ag classes they can take during their junior year. Congrats to these Sophomores!
