Chapter Officer Team

2024-2025

Chapter officers serve a school year term and are integral parts of all chapter events. They dedicate time each week to committee work, along with chapter activity organization.

Michael Milner

President

Grade: 12

Years in FFA: 4

Years on the Officer Team: 2

Hey SLO FFA, my name is Michael Milner,  and will be serving as your 2024-25 Chapter President. I am a senior and this is my second year serving you as a chapter officer. I have shown market swine projects for several years with both FFA and 4H for the California Mid State Fair. Some of my other SAE projects have included fabrication, restoration, and community service projects. In addition I have also competed in a variety of speaking competitions such as Opening/Closing, Impromptu, and Job Interview. Outside of the blue jacket I love playing Football and Baseball for SLOHS, traveling with my family, and playing with my two dogs. I am looking forward to sharing a great year with you all!

Stevie Bates

Vice President

Grade: 11

Hey SLO FFA! My name is Stevie Bates and I will be serving as your 2024-2025 Chapter Vice President! I am a junior and this is my second time on the officer team and my third year in the FFA. This year, I will also be serving on the San Luis Obispo Sectional Officer Team as the Secretary. I have competed in many competitions such as Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Creed, Impromptu, and my favorite: Parliamentary Procedure. For my SAE projects, I have shown market swine projects for seven years for both 4H and FFA through the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles. I am also a certified Junior Therapy Dog Handler for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Outside of Ag, you’ll see me in the pool playing Water Polo as a Goalkeeper, playing for high school and the SLO Water Polo Club. I enjoyed my time serving as an officer last year and hope to make this year even better!

Finley White

Secretary

Hey SLO FFA!! I’m Finley White, and I am going to be a senior this school year! This will be my fourth year in FFA and my second year as an officer! I have competed in Opening and Closing Ceremonies, job interview contests, SAE project competition, attended national convention, and shown at the fair for the past three summers. Some of my previous SAE projects include building a treehouse, rebuilding a fence, raising and showing two market lambs, raising and showing a heifer, and working at Farm Supply. Outside of FFA, I am a part of the SLOHS dive team, I work at Farm Supply, and I love spending time with my family and friends! I am so excited to serve as our chapter's secretary and can't wait to see what we as an officer team can accomplish this year!

Mila Shih

Treasurer

Hey! My name is Mila Shih and I’m a junior at San Luis Obispo High School. This is my second year in FFA and I’m serving as the treasurer for our chapter team. I hope to bring awareness to our amazing program by providing more opportunities and information about the competitions and events that the FFA offers. This upcoming year, I aim to participate in science-related events such as the Agriscience Fair and Environmental and Natural Resource Systems CDE, as well as public speaking competitions like Prepared Public Speaking and Parliamentary Procedure. Outside of school, I love to read, swim, make art and music, sit in nature, experiment with plants, and eat good food. I’m so excited to serve as an FFA officer and look forward to making a positive impact on our chapter and community!

Holly Speake

Reporter

Hi everyone! My name is Holly Speake and I’m so excited to be serving as your chapter reporter this year! This will be my 4th year in FFA and my 1st on the officer team. I’ve competed in contests like Prepared Public Speaking and Opening & Closing Ceremonies, but my favorite by far is Parliamentary Procedure. I’ve also led different committees in our chapter like middle school outreach and website/technology. Some of my SAE projects include ag communications projects and plant projects. Outside of the blue jacket, I’m a part of clubs on campus like Wellness club, HMC, ArtsConnectSLO, Women in STEM, and ASL club. You can also find me dancing with Studio @-Ryan’s American Dance, on the pool deck as a part of the SLOHS Dive team, or working downtown at a clothing store. I can’t wait to be taking on the role of reporter, and I’m so excited for what this school year will bring!

Matthew Prater

Sentinel

Grade: 11

Hello, my name is Matthew Prater, and I am honored to serve as your 2024-2025 Chapter Sentinel. As I enter my junior year at San Luis Obispo High School, I am eager to continue my journey in FFA. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of raising livestock and competing in various events, including the Job Interview, SAE Project Competition, and Opening & Closing Ceremonies. These experiences have not only honed my skills but also deepened my passion for agriculture. I have also actively participated in planning chapter events and attending conferences to broaden my leadership abilities. In my limited free time, I enjoy camping, fishing, and the occasional nap. I am thrilled to be part of our chapter officer team and look forward to a productive year ahead.

Peyton Campbell

Historian

Grade: 12

Years in FFA: 4

Years on the Officer Team: 1

Hey y’all! I’m Peyton Campbell and I’m so excited to be your 2024-2025 Chapter Historian. I’m a senior this year and this is my fourth year in FFA but my first year as an officer. Throughout my years I’ve enjoyed the events we hold as a chapter and seeing everyone come together! Some of my previous SAE projects include building and maintaining a garden, training a new puppy, and raising and showing 3 market hogs for the Paso Robles Mid State Fair. Outside of FFA I am a part of our SLOHS softball team, I serve at Hoagies in Pismo and SLO, and I love spending time with family and friends! I’m so excited to serve as our chapter’s Historian and can’t wait to see what we as an officer team can achieve this year!

Seven chapter officers are elected annually at our Year End Awards Banquet in May. Candidates must complete an application, participate in an interview, and deliver a speech to the FFA members before the voting process.
