Close to 90 SLO FFA members are working hard to raise livestock and build industrial arts projects for the 2015 California Mid-State Fair. Now that school is officially out, we have transitioned to the daily countdown of days left until weigh in day, Monday July 27th at 7:00am. That makes 38 days until weigh in! If you would like to borrow our portable scale to weigh your pigs please contact me by email or text to set up a time / date. Students are feeding, bathing, weighing, exercising, and practicing showmanship with their animals. Each species group has a specific schedule that has been provided to each student, and all student exhibitors must turn in 2 completed buyer letters, stamped and addressed, by June 29th. Since the swine group is so large, we are having our “Parent” meeting this Monday night June 22nd at 6:00pm in room 308 to discuss all details related to summer requirements and fair. It is very important that at least one parent of every student be present to get all the information. I would like to say “Thank You” to Sharon Lewis for taking the time to help go through a large pile of fair entry paperwork and fees. She also has assembled an updated parent email list! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!
