SLO FFA Gets Spooky

Each year the San Luis Obispo FFA Chapter puts on our annual Scare Farm as a community wide event to promote agriculture awareness and Halloween for the SLO community. All the profits from this event go to the family that SLO FFA is adopting from the salvation army. The members of SLO FFA worked diligently this year to put on an awesome carnival and haunted farm to welcome community families to our school.

The scare farm part of the event was put on by committee chairs Eve Hedges, Lindsay Haggard, Yvette Fiorentino, and Lauren Haran. They recruited members in all grade levels, freshmen through seniors, who participated in 5 different sections of the haunted house. These members dressed up in eerie costumes and we had clowns, dolls, butcher, and more continuously scaring over 500 people who went through our farm! We appreciate all the work our wonderful SLO FFA members put in after school to help make this event such a success.

The carnival was held down in our agriculture department and was run by committee chairs Sydney McGovern, Yilliana Keller, and Chloe Carlson. The carnival was complete with a full snack bar, bounce house, dunk tank, and super fun carnival games such as a bean bag toss and balloon darts. A special thanks goes out to our school administrators who went in the dunk tank and got soaked by our students and community families! The volunteers put on an awesome night of food and games for the kids in attendance.
